Our Craftmanship.
HANDMADE IN ITALY
Icons of style have always been identified as much by their accessories as their overall aesthetic. Take, for example, the signature eyeglasses of designer Yves Saint-Laurent, former First Lady Jackie Onassis, or actress Audrey Hepburn—they serve as nuanced punctuation, with just enough boldness to make a statement without eclipsing the famous face behind the frames.
Every BLEU's frame is entirely handmade in Italy & created with the idea of an indestructible product able to accompany the adventurer in its endless experiences.
For each frame, the production process can last from 8 to 14 weeks
Acetate
Material selection is at the very core of BLEU: only the best Italian acetate is sourced in order to ensure resistant and long lasting products.
It all starts with a sheet of cellulose acetate, a material of natural origin composed mainly of cellulose obtained from the cotton plant and wood fibers from which, after a special treatment, acetate is derived.
Polishing
Each frame is inspected and assembled by the hands of our expert craftsmen: every small imperfection is smoothed away, the temples are mounted and fixed to the front with hinges.
The next step is to polish the frame by hand, to make the glasses perfectly shiny or Matte.
LENSES
BLEU boasts the highest level of optical clarity in the world and the most effective blue light protection available on the market.
Cutting edge technology is at the forefront of lens selection and only the best quality tempered mineral glass is used.
The frames are then sent to Asia to insert the lenses, and be ready to deliver our clients.
